Mob General

This rulset demonstrates guidelines on how to act as a mobster within TC.

1

Discord

Comms comms comms.

  • Mobs are allowed to have a single discord channel with they oversee.
  • TC administration are to be made the owners of this discord.
  • Any additional 'hidden' discords created outside of this for metagame purposes can and will result in the mob being removed.
  • The exception is for ally discords, where the high command of allied mobs can have discussions and arrange meetings.
2

The Boss

The final word.

  • The mob boss is the sole approver for any requests related to their mob. For example, if a mob wants to add another mob to their building so that they can open the doors. This needs to be approved by the mob boss.
  • The mob boss has the authority to place orders on anybody within his mob and have him put to death. He may give orders to other members of the family to carry out. See Perma Death for more information
3

Multiple Characters

Clones

  • You may not have multiple characters within the same mob. This is designed to stop players from having a main and a safety character they don't mind losing.
  • We have measures in place to stop multiple mob characters, any attemps to circumvent this will be taken as explotation.
4

Legal Fronts

Oh, what a lovely Italian bakery.

  • Each mob will recieve 1 or 2 legal frontgs. This is activity dependant. If we notice that places aren't being utilized we reserve the right to remove the mobs access.
  • As a mob grows they will be able to obtain more properties.
  • The owner of the property does not have to be the mob boss, however the owner of the property will be responsible for paying monthly taxes on each building. Failure to pay without prior notice may result in the property being foreclosed.
  • A legal front is designed for a mob to create a passive legal income as well as recruit new members. If the mob owns a restaurant they will be able to serve food and drink to patrons and hire new blood to serve food or work security - mobs reserve the right to RP however they see fit.
  • Mobs may use their legal fronts to perform illegal actions, drug cultivating and processing etc. but it is entirely on them if there are RP repercussions.
  • Rival mobs MAY NOT drop illegal items in another mobs legal front in an attempt to have the police investigate.
5

Newly Added Mobs

Fresh of the boat.

  • Once a mob has been added to the server, they will have an amnesty period of 4 weeks where no other mob may escalate past level 1.
  • Mobs may have disagreements, get into fights or even gunfights but the RP ends after that. Mobs may not muscle each other during this period, mobs may have sit downs to express issues but full blown war efforts cannot be actioned during the grace period
  • This is to ensure fairness, a mob who has been in the server for months will have stronger manpower than that of one recently added. Let them find their feet.
6

High Command

Welcome to the family.

  • If you are lucky enough to be given high command within a mob (Caporegime or higher) you may not serve as high command in another mob.
  • This is to negate conflict of interest and create an environment of fairness.

PERMA DEATH

Living the life of a mobster is serious business. You may find yourself in a life or death position.TC has a permakill system which comes into effect during specific RP scenarios. This section will cover the Mob aspect of perma death for a wider view of how the perma death system / rule set works please see the 'Permakill' section of the rules.

1

Boss Orders

Sleepin' with the fishes.

  • The Mob Boss of a family can give orders for your life for breaking the rules laid out when you agree to join the family. These orders can be handed down to subordinates.
  • The orders must be given IC and evidence of the meeting must take place. If a boss does not wish to verbally give an order, he can use a typewriter to create a note, but he must sign it.
If you believe to have been killed unfairly through metagame or you didn't break your family rules - do not delete your character and raise a discord ticket for us to review.
2

Police Death

Fuck the 5-0

  • As a criminal you must be careful with interacting with the police. Getting into a gunfight with the police and losing may be trouble.
    • Firing at police - If you start the violent interaction with police and are killed as a result then the officer(s) who where in the scenario can put forward evidence to have you permakilled.
Attempting to stop your own arrest by pulling out a weapon, is also considered a violent action and the police reserve the right to end your life. If you already have your weapon out when the police enter the confrontation, this is a different story.
Police fire at you - If you are in a scenario where it's the police who begin the violent confrontation then you will not be permakilled during this RP. Feel free to fight them. However, the moment you put your weapon away or escape the scene, this is considered ending that particular scenario.
3

Mugging

Hand over the creps

  • There are a few ways that you may be permakilled during or after a mugging. See the main mugging rules below.
  • If you mug someone you need to keep a level of FearRP on your victim at all times, this means pointing a gun at them. If your victim attempts to pull a weapon whilst under FearRP and you kill them this qualifies as a permakill,
If you break the FearRP by turning around, opening your inventory etc and the victim pulls a gun, they are no longer under threat of permakill but you as the mugger are. If the victim kills you, then you qualify for a permakill.
If a player is mugged, they make seek revenge on their muggers. They must first create a staff ticket by doing /tickets. They must provide evidence of their mugging once the staff member has confirmed they will have 30 minutes to find and kill their muggers. If they are successful then a new ticket should be created for the permakill - with evidence of the murder.
4

Suicide

I'm gonna' jump

  • Players who no longer wish to use their character can take their lives into their own hands.
  • They simply need to put a ticket in with staff by doing /tickets and request that their character be set.
  • Once the staff member agrees, the player may end their life however they see fit. The next time they are killed, they will be permakilled.

Extortion & Protection Racket

Mob members may extort businesses. Extortion allows criminal organization to expand their influence and generate income through RP. The process is strictly governed by a 3 Stage Escalation Systen to priorizite story progression over immediate violence.

1

General Principles & limits

The fine line

  • Active limits A mob may only have a maximum of 3 active extortion tickets open at any given time.
  • Territory Risks Extorting within your own territory is considered lower risk. Extorting inside another mobs territory carries a high risk of IC escalation and potentially war.
  • Mutual Benefit Extortion must be a two-way transaction mobs are demanding money for something they need to offer something akint to physical protection from other mobs or access to supplies
  • Contact Requirement:The victim must be provided a direct way to contact the mob (e.g an in-game pager channel or mob Discord invite)
  • Offline Dodging:If a business owner actively dodges RP or goes inactive for 72+ hours to avoid being pressed, staff may authorize the mob to progress to the next stage in their absence
  • 2

    Business Defense & Failure Conditions

    You aint taking my business.

    • Defense Rights Business owners have full rights to defend their property by involing law enforcement, hiring private security, or siding with a rival mob.
    • Definng Defeat: An extortion attempt immediately fails if the extorting party is downed, arrest or foced off the property and unable to re-establish control within 15 minutes.
    • Ticket Closure - If the extorters fail, or if they break any server rules during the attempt then this is considered an extortion failure and the ticket is closed. The mob cannot attempt to extort that business again for 14 days.
    3

    Stage 1 - Proposal & Soft Negotiation

Make 'em an offer they can't refuse

    • Ticket Requirement: The mob must open a Discord staff ticket and specify the target business, if it's inside/outside their turf, the weekly fee and benefits offered in exchange.
    • Rules of Engangement: Strictly non-violent. The mob must press the owner with their proposed demands, payment schedule and offerings in a peaceful manner.
  • Anti-Baiting Rule: Mobs may not use physical body-blocking, extreme verbal abuse, or harassment to provoke the owner into initiating violence.
  • Violence Trigger: Violence from the mob is prohibited during Stage 1 unless the victim initiates physical violence without provocation. Then the mob may retaliate, if the owner defeats the men then the extortion is a failure. If the mob beat the owner, they may progress to Stage 2.
  • Progression: If the victim outright refuses or initiates violence the mob can progress. A minimum of 24 real-life hours must pass before moving on to stage 2. This is to give the business owner time to think / options.
  • 4

    Stage 2 - Intimidation & Escalation

    Give me what I want.

    • Cooldown: As stated, 24 real life hours must have passed from Stage 1. Following this time, the mob may return whenever they see fit.
    • Allowed Actions: Threats and non-lethal violence can take place (e.g brawls, beating with melee weapons) against the owner and employees. The mob can smash breakable items, shoot out windows shoot cars, etc.
  • Demand Increase: During Stage 2, the mob may increase their demands. For example if they were requesting $2,000 a week. They may now ask them for $5,000. The request must be reasonable.
  • Violence: As with stage 1, if a violent interaction breaks out the winner determines if the extortion is escalated to Stage 3
  • 4

    Stage 2 - Intimidation & Escalation

    Your money or your life.

  • 4

Stage 3 - Property Destruction & Critical Escalation

    Light a match.

    • Cooldown: As stated, 24 real life hours must have passed from Stage 2's outcome.
    • Staff Approval Required Staff must review and sign off on the Stage 3 ticket before any attack takes place to prevent rule abuse or unsanctioned actions..
  • Allowed Actions Extorters give one final verbal warning. If refused they may on the spot execture a violent attack on the property This can be in the form of arson, drive-by shooting, blowing the building up etc. The Mob can be creative.
  • Aftermath & Closure: Following the attack, the business will be marked as IC closed/damaged for 1 week. The mob cannot attempt to extort this business again for 30 days.
  • Permakill Rule: Business The business owner cannot be perma'd by an up close execution. If he is blown up, dies in a fire, is hit by a stray bullet from a drive by then this counts towards a permakill. This only occurs if the owner is killed following being downed, if he is revived by EMS for example, there is no permakill.
  • Permakill Rule: Mob If the mob members are killed as a direct result of the retaliation from the business owner then they will be dealt a permakill. This only occurs if the owner is killed following being downed, if he is revived by EMS for example, there is no permakill.
  • Mugging

Mugging was very common in the 1970s. This ruleset will explain the proper method of mugging

    1

    Mugging General

    Run them pockets.

    • Mugging is a dangerous activity that can cause the death of either party involved.
    • You can mug one person every 45 minutes. This includes your entire mugging party.
    • Before you go undercover a Senior staff member will change your name and job so that you can go undercover without being known.
    • You cannot mug in the open. You must get your victim into a secluded area before initiating the mugging. you can however, place someone under Fear RP and force them into said area.
    • You may not create characters for the sole purpose of mugging.
    • If someone stumbles upon your mugging you may bring them into the RP and hold them up and include them in the mug. You can also tell them to run away.
  • You may not use discord or your pager during an active mug, unless you are free from the confrontation of your mugger.
  • 2

    Initiation / Ending

    Leave em in the alley

    • Initiation: To initiate a mugging you must have a weapon. (You cannot mug with fists). The weapon must be pointed at the player you intend to mug. This initiates Fear RP
    • Ending: Once you have successfully finished your mug, you must leave your victim alive. You may leave them tied in the location you mugged them.
    • Any information obtained by a properly placed bug is considered IC information and can be relayed to others.
    2

    Violence

    Rough em' up.

    • Whilst you have the victim under fear RP, you are in control of the mug. If the player attempts to pull a weapon out and fight back you may execute them which counts as a permakill.
    • If you break the line of site, and your victim manages to flank you, draw a weapon and kill you - then you will encour the permakill.
    • A victims friends may defend them but they have to have their name or be in the same mob as them.

    Raiding

Sometimes taking things that don't belong to you is the best way to make money. These rules will outline how to raid and steal.

    1

    Raiding General

    Open up.

    • You may break into any and all businesses and homes. There are certain doors that you will not be able to lockpick however.
    • Breaking into a business will trigger a small minigame which you need to pass to unlock the door. This minigame plays a public lockpick sound for anyone around to hear.
    • If you are caught attempting to break into a business and are killed by the owners of that particular property then you will be subject to a permakill.
    • You cannot create characters soley for robberies.
    • You can only raid/rob a place once every 45 minutes. If you break into a property and find nothing of value to steal you cannot simply go and break into another property, this goes for your entire party This is negated if you are breaking into a motel or hotel. You can steal from each room but be prepared as the chances of death is much greater.
    2

    Loot

    Bag it up

    • Every mob stash can be broken into there is a requirement however that a number of that particular mob needs to be in the city for you to be able to break the stash open.
    • Public stashes or stashes left open are fair game.
    • There is no limit on what you can break into, if you have gained access to a property - feel free to break into every stash you can find.

    Kidnapping

Sometimes you just want to bag someone up. This ruleset will teach you how to properly go about kidnapping someone.

    1

    Kidnapping General

Put this bag on your head

    • You may only kidnap one person every 45 minutes. This timer restarts when the player is killed or set free, not from the moment you take them.
    • You cannot stage fake hostages (friends etc) for monatary gain or to gain police attention.
    • To kidnap someone you must hold them under Fear RP and place them in binds. You must then drag them to a secure location.
    • Kidnapping is stricly prohibited in designated 'safe zones' this includes places like Hospitals, Police Stations and Gov Buildings. You may also not initiate kidnapping in front of NPC's or in general public.
    • You may initiate forms of torture which the player must RP along with. Keep this RP relative to mafia / criminal activity i.e pulling teeth. Nothing sexual.
    • You cannot abduct the same person multiple times within a 5 hour limit..
    2

    Random & Demands

Hand it over or his life.

    • You may only hold the captured victim for a maximum of 30 minutes, unless there are aggrevating circumstances such as the police storming the building or you are in a middle of a gunfight with the victims friends.
    • You may demand a ransom for the safe return of the player you have abducted. How you ask, and what you ask for is up to you but the more realistic the demand, the higher chance you will have of receiving it. Y using /rumour is a good way to advertise.
    • You cannot give your victim unreasonable demands, such as 'walk off that building' etc.
    2

    Violence

    Cut out his tounge.

    • If you are taken hostage, you must RP along. This doesn't necessarily mean you need to do exactly what they are asking. For example if you have been abducted for information, you can hold out and refuse to give the info, but you then have to go ahead with the repercussions. Players who engage with the RP will not be permakilled.
    • With any FearRP, if you are at gun point and you dissobey orders you may be subject to a PK. Although, for example - if your abductors want information, they cannot point a gun at you and permakill you for not handing overthe information. victims may also fight back, but need to keep in line with the permakill rules if they do not want to lose their characters.
    2

    Release

Let him go he's had enough.

    • Once the 30 minutes are over, you must release the victim. How you do this is up to you, you could drop him off in a random location, force him to turn around whilst you drive away etc.
    • You cannot give your victim unreasonable demands, such as 'walk off that building' etc.
